About the job

The Red Hat OpenShift Infrastructure Security & Compliance team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to focus on ensuring that OpenShift is able to meet industry standard security compliance requirements that our customers have come to expect. In this role, you will work as a part of a team on the development of compliance related tooling and security content targeting well known compliance benchmarks such as FedRAMP and PCI-DSS. You will collaborate with your teammates to research target security standards and perform hardening related development to improve the security posture of OpenShift.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain the Compliance Operator and related technologies
  • Develop OpenSCAP security content for scanning and remediation of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
  • Perform compliance framework research and related assessment of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
  • Perform compliance-related hardening development of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
  • Coordinate with other Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform development teams on compliance-related requirements

What you will bring

  • Golang development experience
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system of any distribution
  • Familiarity with source code control tools like Git and GitHub
  • Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) systems and test development
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
The following are considered a plus:
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and CoreOS
  • Kubernetes Operator development experience
  • Security domain knowledge or system administration experience
  • Experience with OpenSCAP or similar compliance scanning and remediation technologies
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks or benchmarks like FedRAMP or PCI-DSS
